How do you get it down to $1500 without the scholarships? This is the pricing they go by when I did a calculation recently. People starting without any credits should go with Sophia.org or the Study.com College Starter ($95/month for 3 months) to max the 90 credits.

App fee: $60
Transfer credits (60) for FREE if you're using Sophia.org, Study.com, StraighterLine, or another ACE/NCCRS partner.
Transfer credits (30) for $17/course: $170 for the 10 classes
Assessments $140 (30 credits): $1400 for the last 10 residency classes
Total: $1630 (that is if you've got the 90 credits already completed and not putting that into the costs)

It was mostly out of my head, fees have also increased recently.
There is a free transfer month 1-2 times per year which can be used to transfer the rest.
Absolute minimum shall be 1460 then, for those who already have credits (ie. not counting subscription fees for Sophia etc.).
However I am seeing some toughening regarding transfers - website and catalog now says 50% transfer, 75% in exceptional cases. Not sure how it is in real world, but didn't read any complaints about this so far so I expect 75% is still standard.
on edit: checked catalog for 2022/2023 and same rules were present at that time, so I have to revert the claim about "toughening"

I can think of thousands of better names than this so it had to be intentional.
What a pack of useless wrong assumptions. Shai Reshef is a businessman, not a Marxist, and Israel is not a communist country. Stop making things up.
Try reading what I said more carefully and stop making strawman arguments. Israel has 270 communist villages. Bernie Sanders is a millionaire and he is as commie as they come, being a " business man" means nothing.
It was no accident he named the school the way he did unless you think he is too stupid to know better.
BTW I like the name of your University it sounds like I am Christopher Columbus (one of history's greatest explorers) conquering the "New World" but in this case college, well done (I am being serious).
You cannot make this up...
10 Greatest Philosophers of All Time (UoPeople)
Quote:4. Karl Marx
Karl Marx (1818 – 1883) was a German philosopher who developed Marxism in the 1800s. Marxism focuses on the social, political, and economic theory that the working class and capitalists are at war.
He strongly believed that one day, the working class would overthrow the capitalist class in a revolution, allowing the working class to seize control of the economy.
Marx’s influential works, including The Communist Manifesto and Das Kapital, analyze the dynamics of capitalism and its impact on labor, production, and economic development. His theories continue to influence contemporary political and economic thought today.
Karl Marx was literally one the dumbest people to have ever been born, and his "ideas" are responsible for more deaths than even Hitler.

125,000 people living in 270 communist villages is significant.

There's one thing I don't understand about this online school. Why is it called "of the people"?
It doesn't seem to belong to the people, if you ask me. The goal of University of the People is to be a U.S.-accredited, fully online university that’s affordable and accessible to anyone, anywhere in the world.
Hence : University of the People. A clear, simple name for a noble purpose.

Nope, this ghost school also aims to tell a bunch of lies: for starters, it claims to be saving the African continent by providing "education for all", but fails to mention that most people there don't even have a computer or a decent Internet connection to follow online classes
Instead of bombarding us with useless advertising, wouldn't it be better to buy computers for these people and provide them with Internet access? Or better yet, real schools should be built.
This ghost school is not "accessible to anyone" at all. It's just making fun of us.

ROTFL
As for Israel:
I don't think the point is about being anti-Israeli (for example, I'm not). The troubling aspect is the fact that they hide their actual Israeli headquarters, claiming instead that it's in "California". What remains to be understood is the exact reason why the University of the People uses this deceptive tactic.
PS: on second thought, one possible reason could be that if they said they were based in Israel, they would lose all their Arab customers.

I am a student at UoPeople and there is nothing remotely Marxist with it. I still haven't seen anything biased toward marxism or any other leftist craziness.
I don't like the name either, but it probably helps when raising donations, which they channel to poorer countries or people in need. In my experience there, a lot of students are from African countries, so they are no lying when they talk about it. There are also many other students from other developing regions. So, their claims are not misleading at all. Their classes are mostly readings and written assignments, so poor Internet is not that much of a problem. If you can download pdf files and upload documents, that's all you need.
