It is legit, but state accreditation institute on Malta "suffers from some problems" eg. https://theshiftnews.com/2024/11/28/high...embership/ and for some purposes such degree is not usable even if EU accredited, for example its use in Germany might be limited. (German ANABIN only recognizes degrees from Maltese universities, not from Maltese higher education institutes).
I was thinking about it too though I am far from decision time, the trouble is name of those institutes, I understand they want sound like the next big thing (and also overcome the problem that they can't use university in the name) - Neovarsity, Neoversity, Innovarsity, but I don't share the excitement and it sounds more lika scammy name, or gomycode - sounds like a good name for kindergarden uni at best, like a name of a random coding bootcamp. Might play a role for some degree use cases...
Also, there is no Woolf University. There is only Woolf. Woolf is something like institute of higher education, they cannot describe themselves as university. Their accreditation is currrentlly only valid until March 2025 - one more month.
Finally, there is no EU accreditation. If degree is accredited in EU country, by state accreditation agency, it is usually granted that it is recognized everywhere in EU. Except edge cases like above...and other exceptions... Hello Tomas,
I just enrolled in GMC school of technology, which the Msc Software Engineering with Woolf, I'm particularly interested to go to Germany, I live in Algeria, are there any way I can recognize the degree later?
Thanks in advance. Can I DM you ? I am also in Algeria and I was asking about the GMC school of technology master with woolf.

You are welcome. I'm not an expert by any means, just someone with advanced interest (out of necessity) in these matters.
IMHO you can use this degree in Germany in private sector but not for purposes where recognition might be required (work for government?, immigration?, just guesses - I know nothing about German law, all I know is that ANABIN doesn't recognize Woolff degrees and similar). ANABIN in Germany only recognizes degrees from universities on Malta, not those from institutes of higher education.
Later..I doubt so but it could happen. Eg. if ANABIN changes mind and you will finish the degree after they have changed mind, not before (not 100% sure about that, but recognition is usually not retrospective) Thanks for the reply,
Well about Anabin, if you don't find a record of a certain university or an institution that doesn't mean it's not recognizable, and it also recognizes colleges and institutions by the way, so in case you couldn't find a record it means that no one else has submitted before, otherwise you'll find a record saying explicitly if it is recognizable or not or partially recognized. They even stated that if you don't find a record you need to submit an application with ZAB.
That's all I know in this matter, I've contacted Woolf, Joshua himself replied to me saying "it is under a treaty to recognize the degree, if not! We will escalate it" and they have actually started a process, so I'm waiting for an update, hopefully it's positive.
Thanks again Tomas.

That is correct. Especially eg. for colleges from USA, they have thousands of universities and many are probably not in the db.
I base my opinion on what I have read on various forums, especially I think this one:
https://www.fernstudium-infos.de/search/?q=malta
But I wasn't that motivated to study it in depth, just made some rather quick conclusion, so better investigate on your own. The posts I have read didn't concern Woolf but some other, even older college on Malta and related to problems of recognition in Germany.
This thread perhaps was one of those I have read:

Udacity, after launching masters in AI with Woolf, are now running a poll on Linkedin which of the following 4 degrees people will be interested in pursuing in the future:
MS in AI (which they launched already), MS in Computer Science, MS in Data Science and MBA in AI & Product Management

The main reason Udacity is doing this is to provide an advanced educational program at the masters level to those interested in these specific programs or subject matter. Especially good deal for those who missed out on the GT OMSCS, as they dropped Udacity from the partnership last year or so...

I am going to call out Woolf today. I tried to get information on a Doctorate program and had no follow up. After waiting a couple of days, I emailed [email protected]. No follow-up. I then tried calling their posted number +1 (202) 932-7949. The call goes through but then dead air. I tried over a couple of days, from Canada and using Cloud Telephony from a US number. Same thing every time. Definitely not a great impression.

Wolf is a legitimate and fully accredited educational institution, and its degrees are recognized worldwide. You can read more about it here:
https://woolf.university/degree-mobility...mmigration
In the USA, for example, its degrees are considered equivalent to a regionally accredited master's degree.

I understand that there may be challenges in Germany regarding the recognition of certain degrees. This is related to specific national practices. For instance, diplomas from TESU, which is regionally accredited in the USA, are not recognized in Germany.
Different services look at it through different lenses and some schools request that certain evaluators look at the transcripts. Could make a big difference between being accepted or not. I did some ENEB ones, but I've never sent them to get evaluated. I'm on board with BJs take in that its supplemental knowledge for me

TESU btw. has H+/- status in Anabin, which means that recognition is not granted automatically just on the institution basis. It could be that just some of their programs are not recognizable, or degrees from certain period, etc.

I don't get the constant reference to Anabin. It's important for Germany, but not relevant for the rest of the world. Each country has its own system. And for Americans concerned with foreign degree equivalence, we have foreign credential evaluators for that.
