UL recommendations needed and an update!
#1
Hi everyone...

I applied to Excelsior this week and am just waiting to hear back.

In the meantime, I need some recommendations for my remaining LL and UL classes from Study.com or somewhere else since I think I've exhausted Sophia.

Take a look at my plan and let me know if there's anything I am missing.

Thx!

Sophia's Principles of Management transfers as a UL according to the Sophia Excelsior webpage. As does Intro to Relational Databases and Intro to Web Development. Comp courses seem to come in under Applied Professional courses.

https://excelsior.sophia.org/#courses

On Study there are some Health courses which transfer as UL Health Science courses. They could be considered Applied Professional courses though. There are some psych courses that are UL. And a sociology one.

I believe many people take classes from Saylor and/or Coopersmith for EU's BSLA degree.

I don't think I'd be able to get through Databases and Intro to Web Development. I'll definitely check out Saylor and Coopersmith.

Intro to web development is a very intro to an intro course, you should have no issues with that at all. Databases is doable as well, it will take longer but as these are non proctored, all the info required are in the study materials/pdf files, documents and links that they have. Saylor is an exam, so is Coopersmith, both of these are proctored...

For your Arts & Sciences UL, they are very picky! So make sure you're taking courses that will work there (none of Sophia's will).

Study.com has 7 options:
Business 307: Leadership & Organizational Behavior
Business 313: Organizational Communication
Psychology 311: Physiological Psychology
Psychology 315: Psychology of Motivation
Psychology 316: Advanced Social Psychology
Sociology 305: Sociology of Work

BUS 318: Management Ethics (duplicates BUS310) - this one is shorter/fewer assignments
BUS 310: Advanced Business Ethics (duplicates BUS318)

Coopersmith has some:
PSY-302: Abnormal Psychology
PSY-303: Physiological Psychology
PSY-305: Drugs, Society & Human Behavior
PSY-306: Family Therapy
PSY-307: Group Counseling
PSY-310: Foundations of Stress Management
PSY-310: Therapeutic Interviewing
PSY-320: Substance Abuse Counseling
PSY-325: Career Counseling

Study.com
finished all the quizzes for Comp 1, just need to do some papers and take the test
Finished all the quizzes for Personal Finance (Finance 102), just need to take the test

Sophia
I'm waiting on my Ancient Greek Philosophers paper and my Principles of Management paper to be graded and then I'm done with those two.

Excelsior
I went ahead and enrolled in Information Literacy to get access to full advising so I know what else I can take to transfer the full 113 credits.

At this point is there anything else I should be doing on my own before I talk to an advisor at Excelsior?
