I have painted clear nail polish on fake jewelry. It does wear off after a while but will work for a night out.

If they are posts, the clear polish works. If they are other styles, take a jewlery making class. You can then cut off the cheap stuff and put your own piece made with the metal you know you are not allergic to.
I also have a friend who can only wear clip-ons. She took a class and now buys inexpensive but fashionable jewlery for pierced ears and can convert them to clip-ons.
No, it does not work for everything but it is a help.

Several members of my family also cannot wear fake jewelry or even silver, only gold. I only wear fake jewelry for a special occasion and take it off immediately after. Otherwise I only wear gold jewelry, not silver or any other metal. It is funny because I wear the more expensive gold jewelry all the time, but the cheap fake jewelry only on special occasions. milelol: Since I only wear gold, I don't have much jewelry, and I rarely go shopping for jewelry.
Sorry I don't have any advice or help.

PonyGirl93 Wrote:Does cheap jewelry other than earrings bother you? If so, you could be allergic to nickel. Me and my sister are both allergic, it gets pretty annoying. I have relatively severe allergy to it (the button on my jeans, belt buckles, watch buckles, etc. will all give me a big nasty itchy gross rash,) but you could have a mild allergy.
I don't have a solution other than investing in some expensive jewelry. Hopefully it isn't a nickel allergy!
I'm the same way. It's so annoying with belts! This is going to sound weird but I had some carebear bandaids and I covered my belt buckle with those haha. You never really see my belt anyways and it helps me not get that horrible itchy rash on my stomach. I also can't wear cheap earrings which is disappointing because there are so many cute options I see when I'm out shopping. I have boring sterling silver ball posts in mine right now. Boo. I can wear cheap ones for a short period of time but anything longer than a few hours and my ears are red and itchy.

If they are the post type earrings you can get some plastic covers that slide over the post so that no metal touches your ear. I got mine at a craft store, and they work great. I also can't use the metal backs, have went to the little plastic ones.

One of my friends, a guy, wears earings. I guess it's cool nowadays. (I don't wear girl accessories by the way) Anyways, he took his 8 yr old son to get his ears pierced. About a week later he showed up with his son, with earings on at my house. I told him that his son looked "very very pretty" with those earings on, (in a non-manly way) but I was just messing with him. After that, I didn't see him take his son out with earriings on. He also told me that he stopped putting earings on him cuz people would confuse him for a little girl with short hair. :roflol:
