For what good it may be to anyone considering taking the Civil War dantes test, I used the instantcert practice tests, watched the Ken Burns dvd series, and found a great timeline of the civil war at
The History Place that was a great hard copy visual aid. I took the test yesterday and scored very well (47 needed, scored 66) using one hour out of the allotted two hours. Best of luck to all...

I'm taking this exam next week. Thanks for the resource list. I've used IC and the Ken burns DVD series. I think the timeline should prove quite helpful.
Congrats on your pass and excellent score!

I passed this exam back in April. I also HIGHLY recommend the Ken Burns series. It's long so make sure you pay attention to which General was leading what battles, when and where. Also, caffeinate before the Ken Burns video, it seems to have a soothing -- if not hynoptic -- sleep-inducing effect. ;-) Great series though.
