I would still recommend reviewing the main thread on UMPI courses, find the 6 or more that interest you in History (or another subject that they would accept) and contact UMPI advising to see if you can take those exact courses for the next session... You need an action plan and this would get you the courses you need.

This is probably the safest route, but in my experience Zaborney teaches political science and cross-listed classes while Sebold teaches the history history classes. In addition to Zaborney's, I'd recommend U.S. Environmental History, which was taught by Sebold when I took it, but which is, if memory serves, her shortest class, or at least the shortest of her classes that I took.

Bumping this. Since we are a weekish into the term, do the History majors here still think the class review list applies given the change to Brightspace? Were there any classes that you thought were easier than you expected?
As an aside, how are the World Civ classes? I don't see many reviews on them.

I would guess most students transfer in World Civ instead of taking it at UMPI.

That's what I figured, but since I would need 10 classes I figured I would just take it. It also interests me.

If you absolutely do not have any other classes to take and have not max your transfer credits, sure... Take the low hanging fruit of easy courses to make the bulk of your 10 classes if possible, you need to make sure to complete the major at UMPI and the UL requirements.

Right, I narrowed it down to those 10 I listed in my degree plan based on comments from folks here. All my gen eds and electives are covered and I cant transfer any more history or poly sci in without breaking the 30 credit rule. I recognize these are probably longer.

I haven't seen any chatter about the history courses here or on Discord which is odd! I thought there'd be a lot of chatter with the move. Maybe too early to tell much.

World Civ classes are kind of long, as survey courses can be, but not difficult. That said, I'd taken Western Civ I and II, but they transferred only as lower level history electives, so I was already familiar with almost all of the content, and just viewed World Civ I and II as brush-up classes.

My master's was in an area similar to World Civ 1 so I am not super worried about the content. World Civ 2 should be fine as well. That's helpful. Any other classes you would rec? I need 8 more.
From what I gathered, the quickest classes are:
Arab-Israeli Conflict
Environmental History
History of Infectious Disease
American Government
Vietnam Wars
Am I missing any others?
