yes the essay is on the computer but FYI you gotta be lucky to pass this test !! you can write the best essay on earth and get a 49 without no further explanation  or get a 55 for a bunch of none-sense!! Its ridiculous how randomly they grade essays looks like they are sitting there, flipping coin all day hilarious

Yo this exam kicks butt......re essay format, google 5 paragraph essay to get the proper format.
You gotta type the essay as said before.I thought that you would view the question, have time to draft an outline and then you would write the essay within 45 mins.........BIG MISTAKE.
Your 45 mins includes reading ques, figuring out your points, creating a draft and then typing the essay.
Practice some essays on your own within the timeframe to see where you're at and where to improve.
Anyhow the essay was the easy part.........for the multiple choice.IT'S ALL READING PASSAGES.You have the basic stuff, sentence improvement, identifying the errors etc but that is MINOR.For like 20 questions you have to read paragraphs and answer questions.
I skipped reading all the paragraph stuff to try and save time but no luck.I barely finished with a few mins to spare.
The key to this exam is that every question is worth 1 point.Don't bust your brain too long on one question.Use process of elimination to get rid of the incorrect answers then guess from what's remaining if necessary.
Did I pass? I'll find out in 2 weeks.I wrote a hell of an essay cuz the multiple choice was tougher than I expected.
To improve your typing speed, just IM people all day at work. You'll be quick in no time.
Good luck
Ps don't waste too much time on instantcert.....the questions here are way too easy compared to those on the exam. The concepts taught are solid but practice the comprehension questions.
