Although not a good fit for this thread, I've seen some on other degree boards where this would have been appropriate. You know, where folks ask "hey, I want a cheap degree that requires NO exams, NO papers, and by the way, can I get fries with that?" For those situations, ali4nia's reply would've been MORE than suitable.
Here though, it just didn't work.

I know English isn't your first language, but the tone of your joke is rude.
It is my first language so please stick to what you know (whatever it is) and don’t make assumption based on the fact that I might know other languages.. rude joke? oh please.. it was such a rude joke lol haha why? because the holy cookderosa said so?? is this why no one could really add something useful to this thread beside repeating the same old ''free elective'' mentioned already by kayausa or other courses not really related to this person's request ?? or maybe this person request was a lil bit too much ? Fema : free courses online, no proctor, open book test, with the same final test known by every body .. I think we better be thankful that it even counts as free electives.
By the way, looks like cookderosa you are such a holy person that you got your own online fan club on here so whatever position you take, every time you have 10 puppies coming after you and posting the same old stuff to confirm your opinion.. and no body can say nothing against it !! That’s so pathetic !! Its not the first time that this has happened and you know it..
The strength of this forum comes from allowing different opinions and ideas, point of view (even jokes some times) to come together, not to gang up against someone because they don’t always represent the same perspective as yours.
Hopefully you will learn something from this..

I'm not sure what perspective you offered, and I'm not sure why I make you so angry. However, I would like you to know that everything I know about distance learning and CLEP I learned here. All of it. I learned it from other people- some are still here, some have moved on, and someone will join tomorrow that will teach me something new. Every link, every idea, every thing I followed up or built on started in this forum. I like it here, and I like it when other people like being here. This is a GREAT place full of great people. Yeah, I objected to the tone of your post- I wasn't the only one.
I think if you are here and you take help (as I have) you need to pay something back. So, I pay by helping someone because I was helped. You have been here long enough to pay a little too. You knew the answer to the poster's question, why be rude? Why not simply answer the question?
Also, I fully agree with you that diversity is one of the strengths of this forum...but like I tell my children, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."

ali4nia,
Your comment was rude, out of line and not fitting here. This is a safe place to ask questions without having to worry about being made to feel stupid for asking. That's a big part of the reason why it works so well.
Remember, we are here to help each other get degrees.

cookderosa wasn't the first person to respond to the nasty tone of your post, I was. I didn't jump on her bandwagon or follow her like a puppy. Several other people said something about it before she did. In all actuality, she was trying to be kind by assuming that English was a second language for you and that you may not have understood that the tone of your post was not witticism, but just plain mean. I can understand why she would think that, too...English is not your strength. There is no sense at all in being rude to a new person on the forum, even if you have heard the question a hundred times, there's no reason to be hateful to someone who has a legitimate query about it. It is often the blind leading the blind, in my case, but I try to answer with what little I do know, even if all I do is point someone in the general direction, and others come along and fill in the gaps. I don't really believe that your original post was even intended to be a joke at all, there was nothing impish or even sarcastically funny about it. You didn't even put one of those stupid smiley things to soften the blow. You say it is just a different "opinion or idea, even a joke", but it was not. It was just rudeness to make yourself feel superior to someone that knew less about something. Go ahead and give cookderosa a hard time if you like, but it is obvious who is here trying to help others and who is not. You may be jealous of her friendships, but that is the whole idea, she has friends because she helps them, and you do not because you don't.

Before criticizing my English, please learn how to use paragraphs to make your sentences readable !!
My joke was not rude at all and It wasnt meant to hurt someone but to make him think because his request was a bit too much as I explained above but I guess you were too busy defending your master cookderosa so you didnt get it.
Instead of being someone's puppy and using Albert Einstein's quote to make yourself feel smart, you might think twice or more next time so you might get the point !!
By the way, she didnt add anything helpful to this thread so please dont act like she was a big help here, I m the first person to admit that there was nothing helpful to add regarding this person's specific request but at least I dont act like I m the Holy helper and call others rude because I dont get their comments lol
She was wrong in her statement about me and she didnt get my joke at all because of her fast judgment and her one-way of thinking.
I do help people (even if u dont get it) and I do have friends, thank you very much but I dont need puppies.

It's so easy to follow the mass and not use your brain (let cookderosa decide for you what is rude or not) is nt the same as being rude to yourself Brian?? hilarious

I think you've actually got me on this one, as I was writing it, I considered it to be one paragraph because I thought it was all one topic, but I see now I probably should have made two paragraphs. I'll take my lumps for that, and if the grammer police show up, I'll just pay the fine...
I'm not going to bother replying any more to this since all the valid points are made. Although I will probably get a screeching, nonsensical reply anyway. I do find it funny that you are getting so upset over the joke I made about your English since you are maintaining that jokes are okay.
And I am just going to agree with you on everything ,of course I am just a lemming. I would follow cookderosa off a cliff.
And I think it's wonderful that you have so many friends. It's really great to see how quickly so many of them have come to your defense on this thread...

Wow, your prolific use of smilies says it all. We have to be cued when to laugh at your jokes because it is impossible to know there is a punch line (get the hook). News flash......you are not funny. You are just rude and you are a pathetic bully. Like I tell my kids, if everyone is telling you that what you are doing is wrong, then you need to look at yourself. More than likely, it is not the majority that is wrong. No one here needs to be told what to think. It is just so obvious that you are putting someone down to make yourself feel superior. It is so very pathetic that you defend your position by saying that ALL the responses against you are not valid because they are in agreement against you. The absurdity of your logic is what is funny.
And by the way, you have NO business criticizing anyone else's grammar or structure.
To the rest of the forum, we are wasting our time responding to this nonsense. This person is only looking for attention even if it has to be negative attention. It happens over and over. We are trying to knock sense into someone incapable of understanding basic human interaction. I unfortunately couldn't resist. In closing, I invite you to look over the list below and see if it seems familiar to this......situation.
Characteristics of people with antisocial personality disorder may include:
Persistent lying or stealing
Recurring difficulties with the law
Tendency to violate the rights and boundaries of others
Substance abuse
Aggressive, often violent behavior; prone to getting involved in fights
A persistent agitated or depressed feeling (dysphoria)
Inability to tolerate boredom
Disregard for the safety of self or others
A childhood diagnosis of conduct disorders - this is not a symptom but "a history of"
Lack of remorse, related to hurting others
Superficial charm I think this one means obsessive use of smilies (yuck).
Impulsiveness
A sense of extreme entitlement
Inability to make or keep friends
Recklessness, impulsivity[5][6]
People with a diagnosis of antisocial personality disorder often experience difficulties with authority figures.[7]
