I know I'm bouncing around a lot (sorry-kinda scrambled lately), but I'm taking advice now of everyone on here as well as doing some self searching. I'm trying to put together a degree plan now for WGU (using as many free credit sources as possible first). Does anyone already have one? I've also started checking out the classes on Saylor and wow, are they DRY! Are there any free courses elsewhere that are better or more engaging that we can use to study for the Saylor exams?
I think I like the modern states courses better, and I'm currently getting organized on getting rolling, just want to get organized and finish everything possible before enrolling.
My current credits from community college:
English 1 &2 (6)
Western civ 1&2 (6)
public speaking (3)
gen. Psych (3)
Sociology (3)
human life span development (3)
macroeconomics (3)
world religions (3)
small business management (3)
intro to paralegal studies (3)
Also: FEMA: Active Shooter, Needs of children in disaster
In addition: Certificates, Medical Assistant and Medical Office Specialist (vocational program, probably won't transfer for credit anywhere)
I don't know which ones WGU will or will not accept for your plan.
Also keep in mind the free CLEP vouchers from Modern States and the free NCCRS approved credits from OnlineDegree.com (if they ever get their act together and actually launch).
Georgia Tech MS Cybersecurity (Policy), 2021

The Teex cyber security courses expire in 2 weeks, so if those can apply to your program, I would do them first. So far, they keep extending their ace approval by a month or so but I don't expect that to last forever.
If the free institutes ethics course applies to your program, I would do that afterwards since it's ace approval expires July 31st.

The WGU degree plan on their site is confusing. They have different names for courses, so that's what I'm working on now, is finding equivalent courses that line up with what they need. Why can't they make things easy for us?!

I just had an evaluation done for BSCSIA and the TEEX Infosec for Everyone counted for Fundamentals of Information Security. Also the Institutes ethics course counted for Critical Thinking and Logic and the Info Systems CLEP counted for Intro to IT. After those, I would work on the ALEKS courses (College Algebra, Pre-Calc and Stats) and CLEP Comp. English, Psychology (for Geography) and a science.
Honestly, the Saylor courses aren't considered good (I've heard of maybe 1 or 2 that are, otherwise they range from bad to terrible). It's kind of a case of "you get what you pay for" except that you can skip the course and just take the test if you want.
You might think about doing things in this order:
1) TEEX Cybersecurity for Everyone - expires 6/30
2) ALEKS math courses - expire 7/31
3) CLEP/Modern States courses
4) Study.com - take 2 courses/exams where you can't find them anywhere else cheaper, AND during the same month, use the time to study for the Saylor exams (Intro to Business, Managerial Accounting, Business Comm). Study.com allows doing unlimited courses each month, but only 2 proctored final exams, so make the most of the month you're paying for by using their courses to study for less expensive options.
I updated the spreadsheet I made using quigongene's info on the free courses that would work.

thank you so much dfrecore! Would it be better to just do the clep college math? It goes for 6 credits. And I'll check out the aleks as an option too, but it says I need an access code? I'll do a search for that, because it's probably been answered somewhere already ha!
