Hi All,
First let me thank everyone for the wonderful posts, I passed A & I Literature on Friday thanks to all of the tips on the site.
I am scheduled to take American Lit on Jan 6th & I purchased The Idiots Guide to American Lit to study for it. I am also scheduled for English Lit on Jan 16th & I purchased The Idiots Guide to English Lit to study... I plan on using those texts + Wiki +Spark notes ...
Can I pass both of these tests with just these resources?
I am just completely stressed out... I have a total of 5 tests that I am trying to take before classes resume at the end of January and the Literature exams seem to be the hardest to prepare for.
Thanks!!

That is a lot! I am taking the English Literature exam next week, and I will begin studying for it tonight. About half of the Eng Lit exam is analyzing and interpreting literature, and I just got a 78/80 on that exam, so I should be fine. I am going to spend a couple hours per day studying British literature, and I should be OK for the exam on next Monday.
I am going to take the American Literature exam in a month or two. It looks very tough, so I am going to give myself some extra time to prepare. You can use the
CLEP Official Study Guide to see the difference between the English Lit and American Lit exams. American Lit looks tough. Don't rush into it.
Concerning study resources, I recently added to the English Literature CLEP thread:

You can probably do it....just plan to study a LOT.
The biggest help you can do yourself is to get the practice test on the Official CLEP study guide and look up every single work mentioned anywhere in the test on sparknotes. Make yourself a little 2-3 sentence summary of each work--who wrote it, who the principal characters are, and anything of note about the plot.
The practice test questions are often similar to the real thing, with a twist. You need to know something about ALL the answer choices. For instance, if the practice question goes:
Q. Who was the first president?
1. George Washington
2. Elvis Presley
3. George Bush
4. Thomas Edison
5. Shakespeare
the real question will actually probably be a question about Elvis or Edison.
If you PM me with a "real" e-mail address (I don't know how to attach files using this messaging system) I'll send you my notes for American Lit.

Thanks for the tips :-)
I am going to pick up the Official Study Guide today; since I haven't invested in that yet.
Sowak777: THANKS!!! That is a comprehensive study list!
I can't decide which is going to be harder the American or English Literature exam... It looks like they are both pretty tough.

Thanks!!
Has anyone used the Peterson's online test for American Lit? Any thoughts?
We've been looking in vain for online tests for English Lit.
