Since I began this push to finish my degree this past December, I've been busy planning the next course and/or working the next course. I haven't felt overwhelmed since I got past the learning curve of the starting process. But, it's been a boom, boom, next, now what, keeping busy time.
So, I'm in waiting mode now for final grades and then TESU evaluations. I feel like I went at lightning speed to a screeching halt. It's weird. Now what am I going to do with all this time??
Most of you can probably relate. What did you do next to fill the space? I can stand to drop some weight, so there's that. I'm not ready to plunge into a master's program. A break from writing papers and studying would be nice. I'm looking for some ideas to put this new energy. Know what I mean?

I am trying to get my house back in order and getting rid of a bunch of stuff. Also doing some painting, flower beds and crafts. Now that it has warmed up and quit raining, I am also enjoying outside. It is also nice to finally read for pleasure as I love to read! As you can see, I am all over the place with this new found free time. :leaving: milelol:

I can relate to the reading for pleasure. I've missed that a lot. I imagine for awhile even reading for pleasure will make me feel like I need to do a paper at the end and where is my highlighter?!! lol

Maybe an industry certification or go write something and get it published, most employers love it when you've been published.
MBA, Western Governors University February 2014
BS Charter Oak State College November 2011
AS in EMS August 2010
I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this). Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

+1, I would also highly recommend an industry certification as well, I'll be doing just that when I am waiting on things to happen or when it's time for me to graduate.

yes, I'm easily bored, but I'm also easily obsessed, so it works out fine. I'm NOT the person who sits on the beach, I find that incredibly stressful and would rather stab myself in the eye than sit around all day doing nothing. What relaxes me is having a project (or 3) to work on. So, have a baby, start a business, earn another degree, write a book, train for a race, learn a language, start a Facebook group, form a non-profit, etc. Life's too short!
P.S. grad school wasn't a great distraction for me, though I'm glad I did it, I didn't find it especially rewarding- more like annoyingly in the way and I wanted to get it done. OTOH, I found earning 100/200 level credit the most fun.

I have finally found a musical instrument I can still play and have been practicing quite a bit. Since I was a music major at one point, this has made my heart very happy.

I'm going through this right now since graduating a couple of weeks ago. To some degree, I'm returning to the activities I had before school. I have more time to volunteer with the courts as a guardian ad litem. I have time to do some networking and be more interactive with the professional organizations I'm a part of. I am spending more time with family. I am setting out new goals for the coming 5 years so I can work on those. I think there's nothing wrong with reveling in your accomplishment for awhile but I agree, it is weird to go from 100 to 0 in no time at all.
Don't miss out on something great just because it might also be difficult.
