Not quite sure what you mean by prompts, but here goes. Same deal, aim for a 5x5 essay. (Five paragraphs with five sentences in each paragraph.) You'll need to cite your source, but don't worry about the formality of it. Something like, "On the degreeforum.net's website, Laterbloomer recommended that essays be in a 5x5 format." I think that that will cover you. As I recall, you'll be given two articles on a debatable topic. You need to cite them when you write your essay. Good luck.

Have you checked the REA book? I got a prompt out of it for the first essay at the bookstore last night, but didn't look for the second essay. What source are you using to learn how to cite? I'm taking the test Friday.

Thanks! I have the 2010 Official Clep Study guide and found 1 sample topic for the second essay. The only resource I know for how to cite is the Welcome to the Purdue University Online Writing Lab (OWL) website. Does the REA book give useful information on how to cite?

It was just at Barnes & Noble the other day, but as of last night it looks like someone must have purchased it. I found some more prompts if you still need them. There are 3 prompts available for the Peterson's practice tests. DOD Libraries Also, at Barnes & Noble there are other Clep guide books besides the Official Clep study guide that have prompts for the second essay as well.
