study.com grading

I second the ONU recommendation - I have heard VERY good things about them so far.

Also, just wanted to point out that at SDC, even if they take a while to grade your paper, you can continue on other courses while you're waiting. Unlike Sophia, you're not limited in the number of courses you can take at one time. Yes, you're limited in the number of credits you can earn in a month, but not in actually going through courses.

Any idea how English Composition: Research and Writing from ASU Universal Learner compares?

Both English Comp courses at ASU are a LOT of work and a ton of writing. I recommend auditing them if you're not sure about writing, because there is a lot of good information there. But not necessarily to do it for the credit.

I signed up to do English Comp II when it was $99 in 2020. Never completed it because it was too much work with everything else that was going on at the time.

It's been about a year since I looked at the syllabus, but both Comp classes at ASU involve 20 writer's journals & 5-6 projects, or around 15,000-20,000 words (using the minimum word counts). Definitely a lot of work for 8 weeks.

However, all of the work is self-assessed. Obviously you still have to do the work, but if you're a strong writer, you can guarantee yourself an A. Or, if you're okay with a B or C, you can choose what to do/not do.

That is quite a bit of work for an Eng Comp course.

It is a lot of work! UMPI is obviously way easier. ONU is a bit more work, but you're still only writing 1 or 2 papers per course and not nearly as many words as ASU wants.
