Mamasaphire Wrote:I'm confused... why don't you look on the ACPE website, High_Order1?
Go to: The Alternative Credit Project
Then:Find a course provider
Then: Select a course provider
Then scroll down to: Ed4Credit
it shows: What ACP courses do they offer and who accepts them?
ACPE-0051: Professional and Career Development
ACPE-0055: Abnormal Psychology
ACPE-0058: Aging and Society
ACPE-0077: Intro to Psychology
ACPE-0089: Anatomy and Physiology
ACPE-0100: Computer Basics
ACPE-0102: Human Resource Management
ACPE-0117: Managerial Accounting

ACPE-0132: Principles of Accounting 1
ACPE-0133: Principles of Accounting 2
ACPE-0134: Principles of Marketing
ACPE-0135: Business Management

Then go to: "Find a college or university

Then: Select a School

Then
:

Information Systems

Then: Click on each one and see which providers are accepted for each subject.

And before someone mentions that the question might have been about one of the new, non-ACPE courses, specifically English Comp II, I understand, but still that question of High_Order1's made it sound like this was some possibly illegitimate course that was claiming to be accepted by TESU when not likely... when, as we all know, if it's an ACE-accredited English Comp II, that shows up as 3 ACE-approved credits, it's very likely TESU will accept them.

So...

for now, I'm out. If you'd consider working a deal with me if and when TESU gives y'all a clean bill of health, I'd be willing to entertain it.

TESU is hit or miss when you email them. But if the alternative credit project says they accept than that's good enough for me.

EDIT:

Not sure if I should bite or not! ughh. Has someone started a course yet?

My son started Managing Information Systems today, but all he has done is read chapter one of the included e text. He said it was easy and straightforward to get set up and going. He'll take the quiz tomorrow - he wasn't feeling good today.
Here Researching for my son, who has done the following:
Community College: Intro to Philosophy, Fundamentals of IT, English Comp 1
Saylor: Intro to Business, Principles of  Marketing, Corporate Communication
Shmoop: US History 2 (WGU won't accept this)
ALEKS: Int. Algebra, College Algebra
Study.com: Personal Finance, Principles of Finance, HR Management, Global Business, Advanced Operations Management
Straighterline: US History 2, Environmental Science, US History, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, English Comp 2, Principles of Management, Business Law, Business Ethics, Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Accounting 1,Communication, Managerial Accounting, Statistics
Ed4Credit: Managing Information Systems
Sophia: Project Management
WGU: Bachelors in HR Management

Second son is currently attending Penn Foster for his high school diploma, then on to Ashworth for An Associates in Criminal Justice

Does he need to do random modules or activities for credit or is it just the quizzes?

My understanding from reading the syllabus that there are 14 chapter that you go through. 14 exams and a final. Now if I know the material can I just skip straight to the final or do I need to do the activities and what not.

From what he could tell it's just quizzes. 30 questions per quiz.

I signed up for Microeconomics, don't have the time to start it yet, but here's a basic breakdown of the first module:

1.Read PDF Chapters 1 - 2 (each is 17 pages, with pics interspersed)
2.Practice the Learning Activites (has a few different activities: flashcards, fill in the blank, vocabulary, drag n drop, practice quiz)
3.Watch the Videos ("just for fun") (opens in a new window to 3 different YT crashcourse vids)
4.View the Webliography (3 external web links)
5.Take the Module Exam

From what I can see, only 1 and 5 are necessary to completing each module; they have boxes to be checked upon completion. You can't take Mod 2 exam w/o completing the first one, and so forth.

It has 10 modules/topics, and they all follow the exact same format: read 2 pdf chapters, 4 or 5 learning activities, 3 vids, 3 links, then the exam. The module exam says you get three attempts. The 11th module is just the final exam.

The only thing I don't like so far is that every single link on steps 1-4 opens up in a separate window. It's no biggie though, just a minor inconvenience for me. I might try using a different browser to see if that helps at all.

It's a really simple setup, reminds me of the teex course setup, but it seems to run very smoothly and it's easy to navigate.

No prob! The last half of this orientation video gives a pretty clear idea of what you'll get. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-GBqheu...e=youtu.be I think the important thing that I noticed in that vid is that the exams are based solely on the etextbook they provide, not on anything else...good to know.

I'm sorry, I've had things that kept me away today.

Also, apologies for being imprecise in my wording.

I am concerned how ECII will slot in, especially in credits.

I am concerned how literature will slot in. If I can't use it for my Info Lit requirement, then it may be of limited utility to me.

I understand the ACP and the ACE.

And, I know from reading other companies have had to adjust their courses to satisfy ACE, so I see a potential wrinkle where E4C may have to tweak their stuff.

I'm certain that TESU will accept all of E4C's classes. But, I simply don't have the time or money for gambling on sure things.

Thanks!
