After taking the stats test last night I got the score this morning. I got a 68%. Way better than I thought! Again, I know very little about stats. This should be encouraging for others who are looking to take it. I had no clue on half the essays.

Finished the Principles of Sales final. Multiple choice section was easy and seemed to follow the slides in order in my case.
Essay questions were difficult because literally every question I had asked for a list and description. Half of the list had at least 5-7 points on them; the others were a mix of 3-4 points. I didn't answer few essay questions at all.
For this course the final is worth 80% and the Case Study worth 20%. I scored 67% on the final so I need a 81% on the Case Study to pass now.

Here's my review of the 4 DAVAR courses I have completed-
Meteorology (SCI 103)
I rented the textbook from Amazon.com for $12. The headings on the study guide slide deck aligned with the topic headings in each chapter of the textbook. Using the textbook made it easier for me to study and put everything in context. I had no previous weather/meteorology experience other than growing up watching the weathermen talk about tornadoes. There were about 4 questions on my test that were from the book that were not on the slides or quizzes. Maybe 6 questions from the quizzes and 2 questions I had not seen before. The remaining questions were from the study guide but I am not sure I would have been able to answer correctly if I had not read the corresponding pages in the textbook. Essays were a bit difficult, they did not require long answers but did require very specific answers and were very much vocabulary heavy. I used the âbookmark linkâ and completed the essay questions first and made sure I was careful not to click âsubmitâ when I got to question 70, then I went back and completed the multiple choice because in earlier tests I was exhausted by the time I got to the essays.
Public Speaking (COM 101)
This test was quite different from the other Davar exams in that several of the multiple choice questions were applying knowledge to real life situations rather than being very specific vocabulary based. The questions would be a story and you would have to draw from your study knowledge to answer the question. Exam was the usual 60 multiple choice and 10 short-essay questions. The essays were very detailed questions that would be difficult if you took the exam cold or with just previous topic knowledge, but if you really study the materials you will be able to answer the essay questions. The exam also requires a single 5 minute persuasive speech to be submitted as a video file or link. I recommend writing a 700 word persuasive essay has a good thesis statement and to end with a call to action of what you want the listener to do. Dress professionally and donât wave your hands around too much. Record it with an ipad teleprompter app so you have good eye contact and you will be good.
American Government (POS 101)
I came into this test with lots of American History knowledge from homeschooling my daughter and helping her study for CLEP exams. The multiple choice portion was quite easy for me because it was so history heavy. The essays are another story- again they are very specific with vocabulary from the study materials requiring recall of lists, examples, and âcompare and contrastâ.
Intro to Computers (CIS 101)
Start here if you are going to test out the Davar exams. The exam is scored instantly so you donât have to wait. Just be aware that if you have âcomputerâ knowledge there is some dated information you may answer incorrectly if you donât study the materials. The essays require exact answers from the study materials. I'm a MAC user so the Windows operating system information was very difficult for me to absorb and I am sure I missed every question regarding Windows because I had no context even after studying.
Next one for me is Information Literacy.

Just finished the Management Information System (CIS 315)
This was my first test in any kind of proctoring environment (except for the language testing through ACTFL, but arguably a different situation). I underestimated the amount of studying that needed to be done, though I still think I have a shot at passing. I read over the PDF Guide twice in two separate days, and decided to pull the bullet to see what the experience is like for pursuing education online.
Specific to CIS 315, one would be just fine if they studied the PDF Guide very carefully. I haven't looked at the quizzes, but all the questions that did appear in the exam were from the slides itself. Remember lists, as questions in the essays do refer to them a number of times. One of them refers to them in a specific order. There were 70 questions in total, 60 of which were multiple choice, and 10 essay questions. I didn't get the last essay question because I was drawing a blank. If you can remember the lists, and the PDF Guide contents in good detail, AND have basic knowledge of IT (ie. TCP/IP, Definition of a Trojan Horse, etc.), it can be a fairly easy exam.
I'll be surprised if I passed this, though it is still possible. I do regret going into my first exam with insufficient preparation, and I think I know better for the next one.
Edit: Also just finished Microeconomics (ECO 301)
This one I was a bit more prepared for, as the contents were half as long in terms of the PDF Guide, and much of it felt like common sense on my end. I read over the PPT twice (probably should've waited and done it a different day...) and did the exam. Most, but not all of the content found on the Study Guide was in the PDF, at least is what I felt. There was some basic math involved, and I wasn't able to determine if I was allowed a scrap sheet of paper and a pen to do calculations, so I attempted to do mental math in my head. The most difficult calculation was a double digit number multiplied by a double digit number, and even then there was only one of them. Like the previous exam, 70 questions in total, of which 60 are multiple choice and 10 are essays. The essays do require some thinking; in hindsight, if I memorized the PDF Guide in near entirety, I probably would've been able to score high 80s-low 90s.
I feel more confident about this than the last one, and we shall see.

Just finished Fin 401, Corporate Finance, which I though would be a beast because there were a lot of crazy hard essays that they could have picked but I thought the essays were very doable. Like most math or finance exams from Davar there are the 10 or so financial calculations. Also there were a lot of lists put in the MC and you had to answer which one was false. I like these bc I usually write ABCD down and cross the ones I know to be true off. General subject matter for the essays (on my exam at least) would be to know incorporation the differences and benefits, Responsibility of an Auditor and accounting statements, Interest rates and whether they can go negative and borrowing and lending affects and NPV vs IRR. Overall I would say this test was between hard and easy but I do have some experience with investing but I do think the PDF does a good job of preparing one to take the exam. Good luck everyone! PS Well done, Scoriae for getting so many tests under your belt. Keep up the good work!
Update: My test was graded and posted with in two hours. Well played Davar. So excited I got an 88%!

@ gator9595, Thank you for the kind compliment! And the feedback on Corporate Finance as well. I may take a look at doing that one to knock off a BSBA AOS; feeling much more confident after reading some of the feedbacks here.
I scored 79 on CIS 315 and 83 on ECO 301... Mind = Blown, but definitely no complaints here.
Huge motivation to push more before the end of the month too, and I sincerely regret not jumping on this bandwagon earlier now. Next up, Macro Economics!

Gator inspired me and I took the statistics exam. 77%. This was definitely an easier way of getting a stats credit than ALEKS. It took me several weeks to get the 71% on ALEKS, but this one was just a night with the slides. Definitely essays helped this original English major to pass the exam. I also took the FIN 401/Corporate Finance exam this evening. I feel reasonably okay on this one. Most of the essays were very easy. Thanks for the report on that, Gator. The multiple choice was more difficult and there was some calculation needed in which I just guessed. I did spend more time studying for this exam than any other Davar, so I should probably pass. Cross my fingers.
I think that's it for me with the Davar exams. I took 18 exams during the month of June and passed 15 with one still waiting for a grade. That's 42 credits with the possibility of 3 more if the FIN-401 comes in. I had 12 previous Davar credits from previous month specials and so that would put me at 57 for just a few hundred dollars.
BTW, I am really liking everybody who is participating in this thread.

I've taken the 5 general ed exams that I needed and it's only the 17th! Which business exam do you think is a good one to start with?

@eriehiker, did you primarily study the PDF Only or did you also use supplementary materials/quiz reviews? And does the statistics exam via Davar come in as something different from ALEKS, as you had passed that already in the past?

I took the MAN 390 Managerial communications exam and scored an 85. For this exam I studied the quizzes very thoroughly - which turned out to be a complete waste of time. I can't speak for others, but my exam was COMPLETELY unrelated to the quizzes provided. There was no relevant or related information at all, and if anything the quizzes were totally misleading regarding what should be studied. I wouldn't advise spending your time on them. Both the multiple choice questions and the essays are covered in the PDF alone, and going through them a couple times should be just fine.
