How long would you need to work for 30 credits on UMPI?
#1
Hello,

How long do you need to work for 30 credits on UMPI? (I am saying 30, cause I'd try to transfer 90 credits from sophia/study etc).
Especially when you already have some experience in that field that the bachelor's degree is compromised of?

Like, the fastest way you could do it? And/or how much work you would need to put for different GPAs at the end of the degree.
Has anyone any ideas?

And people tend to say that most students finish UMPI in 1 or 2 sessions. What does it mean for an individual to finish it in 1 session? Stay up 8 hours a day? Or were these students also full-time workers?

It really depends on how fast you can complete the courses.

I did 60 credits at UMPI, and it took me 4 sessions. For others, it may take more or less time.

It is a lot of work to finish in one session.

Similarly, if you want a good GPA, you will have to put more effort in than someone who doesn't care about GPA.
CLEP - 7 Courses, Study.com - 11 Courses, Sophia - 15 Courses, CSM Learn, INSTANTCERT - Spanish I, Coursera - Google Data Analytics Certificate.

In addition, if you are slow at writing papers, it will take you significantly longer than someone who is able to knock out a paper in an afternoon. There are simply too many variables to be able to state with certainty how long a degree will take to complete.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

They have, as of this new session, require all milestones to be reviewed before you can submit your final and ask for another course. This will significantly slow down your momentum. I dont like it that you have to request courses and wait 9 hours for it to populate on your dashboard either.

Most of the courses tend to lean busy-workish...so if you work a full time job, you will probably work most evenings and weekends to get stuff done.

What Loops wrote are definitely the most time consuming parts. The only part of the process you can speed up is messaging for the next competency while the draft is being reviewed. IF you know that your paper or project is near perfect then it shouldn't be too much work editing anything.

Otherwise some classes that slowed me down more then others.

I dont know how things will work under the new system, but I completed 30 credits in one session, so a little less than 8 weeks.  I did mine in History and I believe other people have also completed the 30 credit minimum in one session as well.

Depends on which courses you take in those 30 credits. On average, if 2/3 courses are a bit longer and rest easier, then it's possible in one session.
However, if you have 3-4 courses that are on the level of bus 325, 220 and similarly long courses ( either due to too much material or due to slow grading ), it's quite hard to complete 30 credits in one session

BUS 325 has taken me the longest of any class so far at about 1 week and I still haven't taken the final because I'm waiting on Cody to affirm all my milestones.
