I ended applying and jumped the gun now wondering if I should’ve waited to take some Sophia courses before submitting my applicationSad  is it too late to step back. The courses will start in Jan 2023 so I have time to work on GEC UMPI with Sophia  Cool

No, that's what you should do as it takes at least a few weeks to get your credits evaluated. There have been members on the board that waited to be accepted and 'fell' through the cracks and had to wait a session. You've done good, apply early, send all transcripts in, do more Sophia.org now and send those credits in when you're done with them...

@bjcheung77 thanks for letting me know.

One more thought I saw a few posts about life work experiences. I have industry experience and wonder if UMPI would consider my work experience to supplement for GEC:
Effective Written & Oral Communication
Critical & Creative Thinking

Basically, it may work, we don't know what the advisors are going to allow or do with this as each person will have different experience in various areas or subject matter. My suggestion is to use that experience for courses and if it can't be for specific ones that they allow such as the gen eds, then ask to have that be used for your free electives...

Honestly, I think anyone can claim this with most jobs which makes me that work experience wouldn't fly.

Thanks Everyone!!  OK, so I kept my application (BLS minor in management and minor in psychology) going through and submitted what I could to count for my work/industry exp. So who knows, it doesn't hurt.

I am now wondering about the Bachelor of Liberal Studies - Management Information Systems Minor (will this one be harder) since in the past 5 years of my career I've been working closely with software/engineering development teams, piloting new software that helps speed up apparel development process.

I have the following and submitted it with my application:
Scrum master agile certification
Cornell product management certification
Project management certification from Alison
PMI Fundamentals of Predictive Project Management Issued byPMI
High School Transcript--i have to get these, they actually need them.

I am going to work on my sophia/study GEC study course outline and share it later this week.

I FOUND THIS ONE created byConfuseds20ts, looks like a good plan for me to follow...

@manyoptions4me, just like your alias, there are many options to choose from for the 40 GEC, the one you copied is a year old and InstantCert isn't part of the equation anymore as they've opted out of the ACE credit arena for their courses. I'm not sure why you didn't follow post #4, there is a link already for you with requirements. I would follow through with the links available within post #4... See below for extra details.

Within there, it'll have more links, these are constantly updated, a much better option than following info from a year old, many changes could have occurred (costs went up to 1500/session from 1400, system changed from Strut to Brightspace, the removal of exams, the list goes on, all in the last year)... You can even click the UMPI link at the bottom of post #4's link... it'll show you all the degree plans with the most updated info.

@bjcheung77 thanks I did realize after posting the links, that those where not updated. I apologize I skimmed over post #4, I was focusing on the Sophia Courses versus UMPI comparison. I will follow that list as my course plan, it's clear.
