UMPI Requesting Resume & HS Transcript
#1
I applied to UMPI YourPace with over 100 credit hours on my Credly transcript, primarily Sophia courses. UMPI sent me an email requesting my high school transcript and resume. I was homeschooled and uncertain if UMPI would accept my high school transcript. I have been a full-time student since graduating high school and don't even have a resume.
Should I contact admissions to inquire about these new requirements or draft a basic resume and hope for the best?

A homeschool transcript and whatever resume you can put together should be fine. UMPI admissions isn't competitive, so as long you as meet their requirements, and you certainly should, you'll get in.

These requirements for admission are on UMPI's website. They only waive the high school diploma if you have a degree already. I have read of a handful who were waived because they had 60 college credits. ACE credits aren't treated the same.

You should have some sort of transcript from homeschooling.

No better time than the present to write a resume!

From UMPI website, "Transfer Students- provide official transcripts from all colleges and universities you’ve attended. (If you do not have 60 earned and transferable credits, you must also provide your high school transcripts.)"

Would the BOG AAS from Pierpont have solved the problem? Likely required no additional work.

It did solve it for me. My case was a bit different (foreign high school diploma), but the main thing is that the BOG AAS degree made it possible to not have to present high school documents later to UMPI.

Hmm, interesting, you can do both (homeschool HS diploma/transcript), also go the Pierpont route, decide or see if that would be better... You'll end up with the Pierpont BOG AAS with an emphasis of your choice as well plus get admitted to UMPI, you can try their BAS instead of a BLS unless you're going the BABA route...

I went ahead and used a template to create a resume and submitted it along with my homeschool high school transcript. UMPI responded that my homeschool transcript is considered unofficial coming from me. Would it be more official if one of my parents sent it? They are treating a homeschool transcript like a regular transcript. Whom do I contact to straighten this out? Don't you need to take a few classes at Pierpont to get the AAS? Is the BAS better than the BABA? I have no RA credit, just ACE.

Have you called or emailed the YourPace admissions coordinator to talk to them about your situation? What you're receiving are automated emails so you need to call or email the right person.

Check out Pierpont's general education requirements. All courses can be transferred in.

You also need one graded regionally accredited credit.  A lot of people take Arizona State University CIS 194 - Business Technology Fundamentals at a cost of $25.  It is quick to complete and yes it is only $25.

I have left messages with two people. Do you know whom specifically I should contact? Thank you.
