I do, as well. I put lectures, audiobooks, etc, on my iPod and old mp3 player. I use a cassette converter to plug in to my cassette player on my car; plug the external cable in to my ipod or mp3. I also plug in my ear pieces when I'm exercising. Smartphone can store/play audio and video files, too. With those new super small plug-n-play speakers, you can hook up your mp3, iPod, smartphone, etc and hear your files without the ear pieces.
