These are optional not required. It will depend on rather or not your employer (in this case) requires them. I doubt they are familiar enough with CLEP A&I lit to even know about the option....but this is a weird situation your in. Call the local CC testing center and see what they require for this exam....you could take it today and pass it probably...it isn't that tough.

Yeah: mom2arianna, note that the A&I essays "are graded by the institution." The CLEP people don't have anybody to look at them, they just send them along to the rare participating colleges that require essays. Such a college will grade the essays in house.

Does your employer have a relationship set up with CLEP such that CLEP will send them A&I essays at all? Does your employer have staff to grade college A&I essays? It's unlikely.
