I spent 10 years in Europe (7 years in Germany and 3 years in England) as well as 4 months in Paris -- I did a lot of traveling while there and have been to pretty much all of Western Europe and even some parts of Eastern Europe. As someone else mentioned use Ryanair. They are based out of London and fly all over Europe; just check out their website. You can get tickets for very cheap -- I mean $20 sometimes, but they have very strict luggage size requirements or you must pay a decent sum when you go over the size/weight limit. I think my favorite cities are Paris and Rome. Rome is like a giant archaelogical dig -- truly unique from my experience. You really can't go wrong, whether it be a city or in the country -- Europe is charming and beautiful, filled with history.
