Hi all! I haven't been on the boards for a very long time, after my daughter was born I had to put my education on the back burner and work as much as I could.
So anyway, I'm back, and I'm sad.... What has happened to TESC? Capstone course...weird random resident requirements for some programs....NO FEMA anymore...I'm so bummed.
I know why they had to do do this. I'm not mad at them. I'm just bummed,,,,licking my wounds I guess.
20 credits short of my bachelor's from TESC (eval from 2009) a few years ago, now I'm 35ish short (because of FEMA) and have to do a capstone now.
Maybe I should just go for a plain ol' Associates in Arts degree from Charter Oak State College.
I don't want to take the easy way out, I just don't have the money for 40 more courses...and TESC transcripted my lower level credits in high level categories and Excelsior did not. It's my fault for not jumping on the opportunity I had with all my old friends on the boards here who received their BA in Social Science or Liberal Studies like I had planned on. I missed the boat. banghead
Easy way out? I don't think so because I worked just as hard...I CAN do the work to get my bachelor's, but everything is so much more expensive now and if I get my associate's at least I can transfer to a real school.
I'm scared if I wait, the requirements will change again, unfavorably.
My credits will assemble an awesome Associates degree...I can scrape together a mediocre Bachelor's degree, with a lot of time and money (that I don't have lol)
Atleast then I'll have a chance, and be able to use my AA from Charter Oak to transfer on to somewhere totally different....
Sorry I'm bummed guys
PS - I'm so proud of what so many of you have accomplished on here. I'm amazed at where people have gone with their distance learning degrees, you guys are awesome...hopefully I get this all figured out and one day I can accomplish my goals. Everyone here is a true inspiration. xo
