Homeschooling

For the record, all states have measures in place for regulating homeschooling. Some regulate more highly than others. (Although, as stated above, higher regulation does not correlate to higher test scores.) It would be illegal to say you are homeschooling your child if you are not actually educating them.

Well, that's basically what I was asking when I asked if there is some external party involved.

There are enough issues with the poor quality of science educators in public schools, I just get concerned about parents who in some cases have a clearly stated interest in encouraging children to distrust or disregard science. Even if they cover the material in class, I assume they're either not doing it justice or directly contradicting it.
