And "holy cow" because... it's legal to not teach your kids history or science? I was under the impression that states had education standards.
I find it amusing that you have concerns over the academic side of homeschooling. In this day and age the academic side is not usually in question. IME most people who have concerns over homeschooling do so regarding "socialization".
