How did you learn about testing out of your degree?

One person contacted me last year to help them put together a subscription website. I was thinking, "Uh, no," but turned him down politely. I don't really have a problem with starting an education consulting business, but I felt like this person wanted to profit off of other people's knowledge that had already been put out there for free. I think that if you're going to become some kind of paid consultant, then you need to be an expert and not have to rely so heavily on others.
