Don't know if its a requirement of Patten or not.

I can't imagine them turning away someone who was a manager in their role in service to the country. I'm sure that would suffice.

Patten nor WGU are at all likely to call your boss or even verify your employment. Talk with them with a little maturity and be able to speak about a little leadership/management and I think you will be on without much problem.
