TESU - New enrollment and transfer credits advice
#3
For the BSAST in IT at TESU, you're not going to be able to test out for this degree - there are just too many specific requirements that have no testing out options, or even any inexpensive options as far as I can tell. If you go to the degree on their website, you will see the IT Core, and even the IT electives, and there are not a lot of good options to get most.

If you were interested in the BSAST in Technical Studies, you might come out better, as there are fewer hard requirements, and more of your courses will fit in there, with more availability to test out. The BSBA in CIS is an even better option, as it's fully about to be tested out of. You will actually have some courses with nowhere to go, as there are only 6cr of free electives, but that's made up by the easy & inexpensive testing options.

Here's what you can do for sure before getting your eval back:

1) Take the free Insurance Ethics course and send it to ACE: Preserve the trust on which insurance transactions are based with an understanding of ethics

2) Take the free Kaplan PLA course and send it to ACE: https://openlearning.kaplan.com/kuopenlearning/LRC100/

3) ALEKS - sign up, take Intermediate Algebra, get your credits (you'll probably pass on the first assessment since you've already taken College Algebra). When it's on your ACE transcript, sign up for Precalculus. Take that. When it's on ACE, switch to Statistics. $20/mo, you may get done in under a month.

4) Take the free TEEX courses (especially Cybersecurity for IT Professionals) and have them sent to ACE

5) Take the following CLEP/DSST's: Public Speaking, American Government, Management Info Systems, Fund of Cybersecurity

6) Take the following TECEP's that will fit into all 3 plans: English Comp II, Applied Liberal Arts Math, Network Tech, Computer Concepts & Applications, Technical Writing, & Sociology.

At this point, you will have a bunch of GE's knocked out, plus computer-related courses that will fit into the BSAST IT, BSAST TS, and BSBA CIS degrees.

Now, you can decide which degree plan you want to use, as there will be 3 distinct paths at this point.

Good luck!
