I know it's tough to justify paying extra fees when you've already paid for the course, but the take it now fee is really worth it if you need to just get the thing done and have too complicated a schedule to plan out 72 hours in advance.
I think the thread that was going wasn't about the take it now fee (which I've used several times without issue), but rather a package deal that did some sort of pre-verification (completely separate thing).
