He means $50/per credit I believe, the standard rate for california community colleges.

It's a state wide thing, just need your high school's permission (and parents' of course), and be at least a junior. Not sure if this is all schools, but at least my community college alma mater waived all extraneous fees like student health services and enrollment fees, so you're only paying per credit tuition + books.


Edit: digging around some more at schools close to me, some community colleges here let in freshmen/sophomores, so I guess admissions vary greatly.

It really does- in some states it's allowed but not free, in some states it's free, in some states it excludes homeschoolers, in some states it's grades 11/12, in others (like FL) you can enroll as early as 6th grade. Some states even provide free books. Then, there are the states with no parameters, so individual school districts may fund programs, or even private colleges. There are tons of ways for high school students to get college credit, but not tons of college credit options for one student. In any event free RA credit, no matter how much you don't love DeVry, is still free RA credit.
