I just finished the Marriage and Family TECEP. I don't know if I passed yet, but I am fairly sure that I did. The test was not difficult nor did it have any surprising questions. That said, there is no way to pass it without studying, as there are unique terms that are only mentioned in the book. Here are my tips to study:
Topics to review for Marriage and Family TECEP
1. The test is 100% based upon the first text listed in the TECEP Test description: The Marriage and Family Experience: Intimate Relationships in a Changing Society Bryan Strong, Christine Devault, Theodore Cohen. Current edition. Belmont CA: Wadsworth/Cengage
2. Flashcards and quizzes for the book can be purchased for $6.00 here: http://www.cengagebrain.com/shop/en/US/s...utton=true
3. This is an excellent prep for the exam and will cover most of the material on the exam (if not all).
4. Review all terms on the TECEP test description (every word and term is likely to be on the exam, so learn all the definitions and theories mentioned).
5. Review all theories mentioned in the book, with particular focus on micro-theories and macro-theories (chapter 2). Be able to compare and contrast several of them. Read chapter 2 thoroughly or use Wikipedia to review the theories listed on the TECEP test description
