TESU: Testing out/transferring of Criminal Justice Requirements
#25
Joeman200 Wrote:You might have noticed in the first spreadsheet, I had noted a few courses that are apart of Gen Ed that one can test out of. I did this just to have some extra options. Because of that, I can apply them into the slots that I was overlapping courses in. The only thing is, I would really like to avoid chemistry. Does anyone know if I can test out of any of the following courses: EAS-101: General Earth Science - EAS-131: Elements of Meteorology - GEO-151: Physical Geology

As you can tell, I like earth/natural sciences.
There is a Nas-101 Natural Sciences 1 CLEP test, I wonder if that would transfer in as anything...
Testing out of a computer course would probably be more enjoyable then chemistry also..

I did find SL: "Into to Nutrition" transfers as TESU: BIO-208 "The Science of Nutrition" If none of the fun earth sciences work out, I'll probably just go with that.

(On a side note, I accidentally put the cornerstone course as 3 credits, I realize it's 1 credit).

You seem to be stuck on chemistry for some reason. For the Natural Sciences, you can take just about ANY science course. You don't have to only go from the list that TESU has, because they are only listing their own courses. You can transfer in ANY science course there. Natural Sciences CLEP will work, and give you 6cr to boot. Saylor has a number of science courses that will work for $25 each. CLEP has several, and they are all worth 6cr. DSST has several. SL has a bunch. Study.com has a bunch (duplicating CLEP/DSST/UExcel). Just be aware that their Earth Science and Physical Geology duplicate each other. And that their science courses are all only worth 3cr, even if it's a former CLEP course like Biology.

Again, look at TESU's list as a guide, showing you the types of courses you need for each area. There is a LOT of flexibility within the different gen ed areas as to what you can take and where you can take the courses/exams from.
