CLEP & DSST are exams, and I think many people take exams when they already know the material (I know I did), so they don't necessarily need to study a lot for them. For those that don't know the material, they usually study quite a bit. InstantCert is a very popular way to do that. But so is reading textbooks, watching YouTube videos, listening to iTunesU, etc.
