That's a good question. A lot of times the job posting is too generic to say what section in the English department you'd be teaching, or it's for a teaching pool. I guess it depends on how tough the competition is and what else you have to offer. I have some time before going back to work full time (about 5 years) and though I enjoy teaching as an adjunct in my field (culinary/nutrition) I'm going to go after a few 18 credit sets as well, but I'm crazy like that.
