My son's account (current) has business stats breakdown as the "old" format (final worth 250, each quiz worth 125). The new format for both is 310 final and 115 quizzes.
It looks like they may be changing the grading weighting (or revising the content) of a lot of the older courses. A good chunk of SL courses used to have 250 point final exams but I just looked at Cultural Anthropology and Intro to Religion and they're both 300 point final exams now. (Both were still 250 when I last checked in like Feb/Mar.) In both cases, they just transferred 50 points from the midterm to final.
The format doesn't appear to have changed for either of these, so I'm wondering if they are just raising the weighting of the final to reduce the impact of people focusing on the quizzes/exams and dialing it in on the final exams? Either that or they are revising the courses slightly and adjusting the midterm and final to compensate.
Working on: Debating whether I want to pursue a doctoral program or maybe another master's degree in 2022-23
