I worked as a law enforcement dispatcher while working on my first masters degree; my bachelor's degree was used to substitute for the experience requirement. Since then, I've been a substance abuse counselor, college instructor, parole officer, social services worker for a family protective services department, career training counselor, and tax enforcement officer. I have multiple degrees, but the BA in Social Science from TESU has consistently landed me jobs. I was also a corrections officer, but that didn't require a degree.
That's interesting. You've been hired so many times. I have worked for only four companies, none of which I "applied" for. I was recommended to each job I've had from people I have either volunteered with or worked with previously. Back in the day, a high school graduate was all that was needed to do the first two jobs I did, the third job just required a certificate or diploma. And the last job required at least 5 years experience or more in addition to the equivalent of a diploma or associates.
My question to you is, did the ASNSM Biology or the AAS Environmental, Safety, & Security Technologies help you along the way to either a better job or further your education? I am looking into the same Masters at UF that you're taking, I don't have a BA/BS in Biology but I am thinking that the ASNSM + some UL Bio courses would hopefully be enough to get me in.
Oh, one more question, the BSBA CIS, did that open doors for you? If I recall correctly, none of the Associates/Bachelors that you took required a capstone course, but now the BA/BSBA do. The BSBA was the last to go for getting a degree by transfer and TECEP. I remember the good old days people under the 2011-2012 catalogs or earlier, could just transfer everything and use TECEP for residency, there weren't any capstones for the BA or BSBA either. I want them to bring that back so I can finish this BA Comp Sci faster! *cries*
