I have a HUGE stack of unused courses I bought for 1 son at Straighterline that he never used. I don't remember the cost, maybe that's a good thing.

His career took a change and the school he attended wouldn't accept them. As far as I know, they never expire, (well, maybe they do through ACE, so never say never) but they'll sit there forever unless or until I convince him to give them a go - but we are still years away from that even being an option.
I do know I had a coupon code that made them a great price, so that might be a factor for you - but I wouldn't pay FULL PRICE for anything I wasn't going to use immediately.
