I wanted to give an update for Comp II. For me, it ended up being much better than Comp I. I ended up with the same grader for every assignment. I don't know if that is how Comp II is structured, but it should be this way so it's consistant. He was very helpful throughout, and he gave great feedback, unlike what I got in Comp I. Average return time from my grader was 2-3 days per assignment. I would gladly take more writing classes with my comp II grader as a mentor. He was hard on me when I did something that needed work, yet supportive and encouraging at the same time. This guy really pushed me to improve. He made me actually work to stay in the A range. Comparatively, Comp I was a joke. It was graded so easily, I was not forced to make any improvements whatsoever.
For Comp I, I had a different grader every time and they took over a week on average per assignment to get returned. Feedback was anywhere from zero feedback and a perfect scores (unrealistic), to terrible feedback not even relating to my work. One of them was giving feedback for some other paper that had nothing to do with mine. I got docked points and critiqued for things that were not even in my work, which is quite annoying when you can't even reply to the grader to tell them they mixed up papers. The class is not applied to GPA so it didn't matter in the end, but irritating nevertheless.
