The thing to remember here is *rare*.  Everything in medicine has a risk of a rare side effect or complication - everything.  Even Tylenol, Advil, cough syrup...   If you are concerned about being in that rare group, talk to your doctor.  They may have more insight on what your personal risks might be.

A relative was saying a few months ago that they were not getting vaccinated because they believed the conspiracy theories that there is a “chip” in the vaccine.  He caught COVID, was hospitalized and recently passed away.  His wife is currently battling the virus. 

When weighing the options, not getting vaccinated is far more risky.

Yeah. Based on how many people have gotten the rare dangerous vaccine side effects so far, you're more likely to die of a random lightning strike. I like those odds.

If you don't get the vaccine at all, you have a zero percent chance of getting a side effect from it.  I like those odds.

I know, I know - you all are 100% pro vaccine. I get it.  I'm just not ready to get a vaccine that hasn't been around for long (and not that it's been in a lab, but used on people for 10+ years).  I have all my other vaccines, so do my kids, so I'm not anti-vax in general, and I'm not listening to conspiracy theories - just in this case, I need to see long-term results before I'm ready to have it put into my body.
