You may want to do the general education courses first and then decide. You also want to see if you're going for the residency waiver fee or if you're going to take 16-18 residency credits. Do you have tuition assistance or reimbursement? Are you an active service person? Do you have previous credits or know another language? Providing more details would help us create a plan of attack and help you navigate the world of alternative education easier...
Thanks for your reply.
I'm going for a BSBA and my current area of study is General Management because the advisor said the most amount of credits are transferable to the masters program. I saw another post of yours recommending the BSBA but with a finance focus and a (Walden University) competency program for the MBA, which I also hope to do the latter as well now. You are a legend on this forum. Walden also accepts transfer credits and the four transferable courses in the TESU Bachelor's to Master's program are 700 level courses that I'm sure Walden would consider taking as well. Do you think it would be worth it take the four extra credit-by-examination courses instead and then start the MBA at WU with no transferable credits from TESU? I apologize I have not researched this myself since it may be far off in the future. So far, I'm planning on getting started with the general education, but the advisor threw me for a loop and made me question trying this again.
I have 15 credits, and one class on my transcript is a D (an art class) from when I dropped out of school about six years ago. I was thinking about having it expunged until I saw a post that said it wouldn't effect me at TESU, and that they would still accept that grade.
I have taken a 7-hour finance course provided by my investment brokerage, and I also have a real estate license in two non-New Jersey states.
Current: UMPI YourPace competency-based BABA, Management & Leadership Concentration, Project Management and Management of Information Systems Minors. Starting with 15 RA credits previously earned in community college. Took the CSM Learn course. Now going through Sophia courses.
Goal: Walden TEMPO competency-based MBA.
Timeline: Started planning mid 2021. Finish both, Jan 2023. A year and a half total, including planning. Started planning on TESU, but was advised towards UMPI to take advantage of financial aid. I'm now excited to finish completely competency-based.
Fun fact: I sometimes use TV as a productivity tool. One episode per chapter, load of dishes, or basket of laundry!
Thanks to everyone, and happy studying!
