Am I understanding this correctly? It's $1,000 for a one-day course? I'm in the wrong business.

This is Harvard we talking about. One of the most well-known Universities in the entire world. They could probably charge 10k and people would still do it.

Like fools.

It's only foolish if someone doesn't know how to market themselves and what to do with the credential. If you pay close attention, take advanytage of networking, and take advantage of the resources available, they can be incredible opportunities. There are plenty of state schools and non-ivies that charge higher fees than Harvard- and there are plenty that charge less as well.  Results will vary.

I don't know how much networking is going to happen in this one-day, online class, but if you're really good at selling what's essentially an expensive piece of paper, then you can sell a credential that is free or low-cost.

You can e-mail the professor right away to stay on file as a reference letter writer, go to the class list and copy everyone's name and find them in LinkedIn. Also, there is a discussion board that opens up a week before the class- that you can take advantage of- and ask to network with people. It's worked wonders for me, but people's results will vary.

A few months ago, I also posted about Harvard Kennedy School's PLC - Credential in Public Leadership- it cost me a little over 5k to register for the full credential when I signed up in late 2020. That program DOES carry alumni status as well- for anyone interested.
