I suggest you look into other countries for immigration.  Canada is backlogged with millions of applications.  It could take years to get invitation ( if you are lucky), even if you have PhD.  
I would not put all eggs in 1 basket and look for smth else.
Plus rejection of your study visa will not make it easier

well i understand there's a backlog but it's not like i have many options. Europe and UK require an employer to sponsor you which is extremely difficult. salaries for Lebanese in gulf countries are peanuts after the crisis. australia is honestly too far away from anything, plus i have friends and family in Canada. It's kind of my only serious option.

It's too bad that distance is a deal breaker, because New Zealand has a reputation for being easier for immigrants than most other developed countries, as well as being a nice place to live.
