As stated in my signature my end goal (for now) are the following degrees:
TESU:
BA CS & English
BSBA
ASBA (redundant but free)
AS Math & CS
CIS cert.
I'll be completely finished with HS in about 2 weeks and then I can solely start focusing on my current courses.
Here is my "game plan" for the next couple of years:
1) Ideally I would like to finish up at TESU by March of 2024 (if it takes a little bit longer or shorter than that it's fine).
2) Use the rest of 2024 to apply for English teaching positions in Korea (Hopefully get placement by January 2025 max)
3) While applying, I'll probably enroll myself for a cheap double masters with ENEB/University Isabel I (MBA/Masters in Big Data and Business Intelligence. (Hopefully, if the courses are self paced I can finish that before January 2025.))
4) I'd like to teach for one to two years in Korea, honestly just dependent on where I am in life at that moment.
5.a) While there I'll get the ENEB masters/MBA evaluated by an US evaluator as well as SAQA. From there I'll probably do another masters (most likely in CS).
5.b) A few programs that have caught my eye: UMPI, YourPace MAOL; GeorgiaTECH, OMSCS; PUG, ExcelTrack MS Cybersecurity; UNISA, MSCS.
Now my questions:
1) Will Korea have issues with the fact that my degrees are online? (In regards to being placed as an English teacher)
2) Is it confirmed whether or not ENEB/University Isabel I, is accepted in Korea or not?
After 1 or 2 years of teaching, I might consider applying for the GKS (Global Korea Scholarship) for my PhD. (Maybe even MEXT- Japan). Does anyone have experience with GKS/Korea and know whether or not they accept degrees like this. I'm aware that MEXT will accept ENEB.
While I will most likely do a masters on top of the ENEB (as I'll be using it more to gather postgrad credits rather than the actual "masters" status), I was just curious if anyone knew whether or not they would accept an ENEB masters for GKS.
If all goes well, this would be my age timeline:
18- currently, enroll in TESU.
19- Finished with TESU, possibly finished with ENEB/busy with ENEB.
20- 1st year in Korea, start with "third" masters.
21- 2nd year in Korea, finish "third" masters. (Apply for GKS or possibly MEXT)
22- 1st year Korean language training (required)
23- 1st year of PhD
24- 2nd year of PhD (possibly finish PhD)
25- 3rd year of PhD (if needed.)
Meaning if I do everything according to my plan and by some miracle, everything just works out, I should be set to find a job within my chosen "settling" country at the age of 25. If any of yall have further advice on how I could perfect this plan, or maybe just advice in general that would be appreciated.
