Dr. Curran is aware that the course needs to be reworked. (It was apparently very recently handed to him.) HE is responsive and helpful. And the course requires significantly less than the Google Cert does, so while the Google Cert is, at the moment, a better course; if someone doesn't need the electives, BUS 245 is likely the more efficient path.
This is one of the course which I feel will be GREATLY improved with the move to Brightspace. This is a Strut created course. It felt like it was created in 1992. It was so out of date when I took it a few years ago. It was very poorly organized. The professor I had didn't even know he was teaching it. It seemed like it was given to him part way through the session. His name was not on anything in the course. Not even my registration! It wasn't until grades were posted that his name appeared. It was sooooo strange.
The language I had to use wasn't covered in the course. At one point, there was another professor who changed the language used for the Final Assessment, but they aren't teaching anymore. I wondered if the change stuck or not. It was very difficult using a programming language not covered in the material. YouTube was my BFF. How did we all survive before Google?
