I don't think they'll allow you to replace things that are already filled in with the free TECEPs. This is why we need to get... creative if we want to take TECEPs that fill already-filled requirements.
I guess I just don't realistically think I'll have the time to study for it. I'm already concerned about the time it will take to study for Federal Income Taxation and will be taking the cornerstone at the same time which I understand is writing intensive. I'm a full-time working mom and feel like adding the Network Technology TECEP is biting off more than I can chew. I've read a lot of the posts about this exam and it seems very intensive to study for. I suppose I can try since it is free after all, but it seems like a bit of a waste.
Don't take it (the Network Technology TECEP) if it is going to throw off your working degree plan; it is easy to get distracted when these free (or super low cost) things come along. Now, I do agree with rachel83az that if you really would like to take the PHI-1300 TECEP, email advising to ADD a 'Philosophy BA'. It could be a good way to earn some needed RA credit on a subject that interests you and leaves you optimistic about passing.
