I hadn’t heard of Robert Cavelier University before today, so had no preconceived notions about it.
In a few minutes of quick searches, it became quite clear that Robert Cavalier University is a sister institution to Brittany University, sharing ownership and administration. It is also operated out of Malaysia and administered by Malaysians. It is as much American as Brittany is Western European, which is to say not at all.
I am personally put off by the apparent desire of these institutions to obscure their true nature and to profit by that. I also doubt these instructions will ever obtain government-recognized accreditation in Europe or North America because, frankly, that doesn’t seem to be necessary to their success as for-profit businesses.
I would have no problem pursuing a unaccredited degree; there are some in religion/theology that quite interest me and are on my list after I complete the masters’ degrees I am working on presently. But those programs make it very clear exactly what they are and their utility/lack thereof, which I appreciate.
