One other thing - the ESEB blurb implies if I pay for the agile exam I still have to do the papers to qualify for an Isabel diploma. Is that the case?

Please share the source where you saw this. I haven't seen that explicitly stated myself, but the following is included in their legal notice so it may very well be the case. Others who have actually done exam route would have actual experience though so should be able to confirm.

"The degrees awarded by the University Isabel I are subject to the internal regulations of this educational institution, which may result in differences in their management compared to the degrees conferred by ENEB. Similarly, the University will base the process of awarding academic credits on its own criteria and internal regulations."

It is not necessary to take test-type exams for all your training programs. However, it is important to note that diplomas issued by Universidad Isabel I will only be issued (provided you have paid the corresponding fees) when you have completed all your programs, both the agile methodology and the classic methodology. On the other hand, you can receive ENEB diplomas as you complete each of your training programs..

ENEB purchased on Groupon is just that, it's the Diploma from ENEB, nothing to do with Isabel...  You can email Groupon, they just 'sell' the product and have absolutely no control over anything else (yes, just like us, Ambassadors for ENEB, we have no control over anything at all either).  Exams are an extra cost for ENEB, Hague Apostille/Physical Diplomas are an extra cost from Isabel... If you're looking at the "digital versions" of the diplomas, they are free for ENEB, you'll have to see what Isabel says about theirs, that's the main thing you want to find out.

Yeah that's not how selling something works in Ireland, or indeed in the EU. You can't just sell a product with no legal accountability. I mean you can try, but you can also get sued and probably lose if the other person wants to make something of it.

But it sounds like Universidad Isabel I aren't issuing the certificates. They used to - I don't think that's really doubted? It's only relatively recently this has been subject to additional fees. This is a pretty clear bait & switch.

I'm happy *not* to have this discussion here, but I will retort if people try to defend what is pretty obviously a shady practice.
