~13 weeks ago, I started this thread. That is also about the time I was accepted at UMPI for Summer II.
~10 weeks ago, my UMPI classes started.
~5 weeks ago tomorrow, I turned in my last final and put down my pencil.
~2 weeks ago, the session ended.
I have applied to two master's programs that begin classes in October - UMPI MAOL and UIUC MSM. So, I asked when conferral would happen and was told "6-8 weeks plus 1-2 weeks additional due to the volume of graduation requests." I asked if it could be done in September to avoid snags with the grad programs, and after some delay, was told that it would be done in September.
Today, I got an email from Lisa Smith about my degree progress. I checked my unofficial transcript and saw that the degree has been conferred. So, it's all official!
Thanks to everyone for the help and advice. And I don't know if UMPI folks (Jessica, Lisa, Susan, etc) read this forum, but if so, thanks to all of you and the faculty as well. It was a good experience and I'm very glad I did it. The only thing I'd change if I could go back in time is I'd do it sooner.
And, this will officially be my last post in this thread, except that I'll be happy to answer questions anyone has.
