I resemble that remark!

Most value degrees will come from universities no one has heard of, which is fine as long as they are accredited. Some of us are, indeed, degree junkies that like to learn new things and get new letters behind our names, lol. Before joining the forum, I had no clue about most schools spoken here because I only knew about schools in my state and the surrounding states or big Division 1 schools that play sports. The Internet offers a wider range of schools that can fit everyone's needs, demands, budgets, and goals.
That's fine, but it deviates into neuroticism at some point. You can indeed easily learn without getting a degree too,

It affects every "hobby" forum to some degree. I was on a gun forum once where people obsessed over collecting certain serial numbers of magazines and only wanted AKs from certain years and plants in the Soviet Union

I disagree with the neuroticism part. It's all a personal choice. I do not tie my emotions to having a degree or not. If a person wants a degree, a new job field may require it as an entry-level requirement. I have friends who have trade skills with no degree or license, which is fine. They can find jobs, but sometimes, they have extra requirements to get the job. I don't think anyone is crazy enough to spend time and money on a degree like trading cards or guns. It's more complex getting a degree than just buying something as you can't just walk up to a counter and say, "Hey, let me get five master's degrees and a doctorate just because I want to collect them or have an obsession.
I disagree, you may speak for yourself but that’s not what I have observed here over the last year.

Some of these degrees require little time or money so it’s sort of moot. The avenues of approach some take here to hack degrees (Multiple) are…interesting.

It’s not someone just trying to break past HR filters by getting a BA degree.

To eaches own. It is easier in the bachelor's degree program to get a degree with many options using different degree hacks, such as the Big 3, Liberty, WGU, SNHU, UMPI, etc., accepting transfer and alternative credits. I can see what you are saying when you see people getting multiple degrees, but I can't blame them when it's costing them little money or little time. I rather have something than need it later, honestly, especially when it comes to education. If someone wants multiple associate and bachelor's degrees in numerous subjects such as History, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Business, and Liberal Studies, etc., more power to them as they gain different learning disciplines. We should be madder at the system or schools that allow this, but hey, get it while you can. We all saw what happened to Pierpont when the ship sailed, and domino effects sometimes occur.
