Gender and Race as Social Constructs

A woman is someone who identifies themselves as such.

Well I identify as black then.

Race is a social construct and I identify as Black.

It is, except race is externally assigned and based on things like ancestry, culture, social hierarchies, etc. Gender is self-assigned.

Ares may have a point there.

"Race" is more of a social construct than a strictly biological one if you go back far enough in time.
