I can only speak from my own experiences, of course, but for me, it took TESC about 6 weeks to do the initial eval of credits, so figure that 6 weeks into your timeline. Once accepted to TESC, you've got 6 months to decide to enroll. Also, figure about a 3 week lead time for DSST's to show up as transferred after taking each one. CLEPs seem to show up within about 1 1/2 weeks.
My end goal (so far) is to have a BA Psych and a BSBA Gen Mgmt from TESC within a single year's enrollment. So, first I planned out both degrees, built a testing schedule for myself, and then started taking tests. Then I applied to TESC to get them working on my 'unofficial' eval, so that I'd know for sure what they would and wouldn't accept of my transfer credit. When I hit a bit past halfway point on testing, I went ahead and enrolled - part of that decision was to have the enrollment fee done in 2008, so that I can take the tax credit (I'm not on loans or grants, it's all out of pocket for me, so I definitely want the tax credits!)
With careful planning (and testing out at a mad rate) it is possible to get at least one Bachelor's, and likely two, within a single year of enrollment fees.
Also, and this is just a suggestion - before you decide definitely on Straighterline for Algebra, check out the long thread on ALEKS - ALEKS is a much more cost-effective means of getting Algebra, Precal and Statistics credits than Straighterline. ALEKS is $20/month, you can take as many courses as you want for that $20/month, and then have them transferred through ACE for college credit. Since TESC is just going to show 'CR' on your transcript whether it comes from ACE or an RA school, why pay the $99 + FHSU fees - a grade won't show up either way, just a pass or fail. For an example - My Bus. Stats cost me a grand total of $60 ($20 for ALEKS + $40 to ACE to enroll with ACE.), my Intro to Stats will cost me a grand total of $35 ($20 to ALEKS + $15 to ACE), and then when I get around to it, my PreCal course will cost me another $35 ($20 to ALEKS + $15 to ACE). Just a suggestion....not knocking Straighterline, I may be using them for Acctg. 2 myself, but for math ALEKS is both a cheap and easy option. Cheers!
